This information has been compiled by a group of Bainbridge Island School District (BISD) parents and caregivers located on Bainbridge Island, Washington, working independently from the school district, teachers and administration. We are a grassroots organization of parents, guardians, and community members who initially joined together against the proposed 2024 school closures and consolidations.  

Since the school closures are no longer being pursued, we have now transitioned our focus to growing engagement between BISD and the community to collaborate and strengthen our beloved schools.

We believe that BISD can better ensure our schools, educators, and students thrive by partnering with families and community members, communicating more transparently, and advocating for increased school funding. 

We seek to: 

1. Increase the number of BISD families and community members who understand what BISD is currently planning, regardless of language spoken or experience with advocacy.
2. Help empower students and families to have their voices heard in major BISD decisions around upcoming long range planning advocacy for increasing state funding for schools.
3. Ensure that every student, regardless of their background or where they live, is attending a public school that has the funds and resources necessary to help them succeed.
4. Reach families in every BISD school building!
